    Verbier is an excellent destination for your paragliding holiday. If you are an experienced pilot then here's some information on the take-off and landing zones in the Verbier region. Otherwise, you may want to find a paragliding school to improve your skills or learn to fly for the first time.  If you've never flown before and what to try man's oldest dream, you can always try a tandem flight with a qualified professional.

  • Paragliding Take-Off in Verbier


    Take-Off from Les Ruinettes (2170m)
    Very popular site due to its easy take-off. Thermals. Watch out for the nearby ski lifts and pistes.
    Best suited for: All levels
    Orientation: South-east
    Where: 70m below the Ruinettes restaurant
    When: afternoons from midday to the end of the day

    Take-Off from Les Attelas / Creblet (2680m)
    High mountain take-off zone. Watch out for nearby ski lifts and pistes.
    Best suited for: Experienced pilots
    Orientation: South-east
    Where: From the top of the Funispace, walk west 200m up the ridge
    When: all day long

    Take-Off from La Croix de Coeur (2200m)
    Watch out for gliders and helicopters from nearby altiport.
    Best suited for: ?
    Orientation: South-west
    Where: From the Croix de Coeur road.
    When: all day long (after 9:00a.m.)

    Take-Off from La Tournelle (2350m)
    Watch out for electricity lines. Turbulence with west winds.
    Best suited for: ?
    Orientation: South-west
    Where: Access from footpath off the Croix de Coeur road.
    When: mornings, from 9:00a.m. to midday.

  • Paragliding Landing in Verbier


    Land at Verbier: Les Planpraz (1510m)

    Difficult but clear of obstacles. Thermal turbulence. High tension line on the west side of the landing area.
    Who: !! ATTENTION: Only for the Centre Parapente students and tandems !!
    Where: 150m above the Sports Centre parking lot
    When: all day long

    Land at Verbier: Les Esserts (1690m)
    Come in above the landing at low altitude. What out for the slope, the nearby road, frequent cross winds, and beware that this landing is in an avalanche zone.
    Where: opposite the Marlenaz bus stop on the road that goes to Carrefour.
    When: all day long

    Land at Le Chable (820m)
    Could be high winds especially in March and April.
    Where: 50m above the train station at the lift station.
    When: all day long IN WINTER ONLY (beginning November - end of April)

    Land at Montagnier / Chapelle (870m)
    Watch out for electricity lines and keep within the landing site - not on the farm fields.
    Where: next to the Montagnier church
    When: all day long (after 9:00a.m.)


    Land at Champsec (930m)
    Best hang-gliding landing area. Slightly sloping. Stay withing the landing zone and not on the farm fields.
    Where: 250m to the right of "Les Places" village. Parking is in the clearing 150m higher.
    When: all day long (after 9:00a.m.)
